A massive shoutout to Philps for once again putting so much effort into their gorgeous hanging baskets this year. Thank you for your brilliant dedication every single year to create such beautiful displays outside our famous pasty shop. It truly brightens up the whole street.

This year, we decided to trade our gardening gloves for go-go boots and tie-dye. Our theme was a nostalgic trip back to the 1960s, and the team went all out, with a win of first prize for the small walking group.
Paul and his team of volunteers have been working incredibly hard to get the garden beds looking their absolute best ahead of the South West in Bloom judging day on July 22nd.

Hayle In Bloom is a volunteer-driven group based in beautiful Hayle , Cornwall dedicated to enhancing the local environment where we live through gardening.
Our team of volunteers are passionate about bringing people together to create naturally stunning , sustainable outdoor spaces that everyone and everything can enjoy. Whether it's through our community projects,working alongside schools or educational workshops, individual creativity and maintenance we're committed to making Hayle bloom.
With each new mission we aim to foster community spirit with a friendly atmosphere whilst promoting environmental awareness, and to cultivate a love for beauty through gardening.
Our Chairman at present is Mr Nigel Powell who has now been Chairman of hayle In Bloom for over 10 years alongside his wife Josephine Powell who is Secretary and Barry Conner who is treasurer.
This year, Hayle in Bloom will focus on the theme of peace, represented by white flowers throughout Hayle with a splash of yellow. This theme was chosen to symbolize peace for people around the world and for every individual.
Hayle's Britain Bloom group was formed in January 2000 following a public meeting by then the Mayor of Hayle Mr David Barrett with the aim of entering the Britain in bloom competitions and to beautify our town of Hayle here in Cornwall.
Hayle In Bloom received strong support from Hayle Town Council at this time , especially the Town Clerk at the time Viviane Parsons. However the first meeting wasn't held until the following year in 2001 when the 'Working Party' was set up and our first entry was judged on the 26th of July 2001 where we successfully gained a highly commended award .
Following a meeting held on February 2002 , Mr Richard Selby - Boothroyed took over chairmanship from Mr Don Mcgeorge who had agreed at the outset to chair the meetings until a committee was formed ( this was very much appreciated by the working party. ) We were also very grateful to the Hayle Town Trust who agreed to be caretakers of any monies raised until we set up our own bank account for Hayle In Bloom. We are a non profit organisation solely reliant on donations and fund raising events to provide flowers , trees and plants to enhance the Towns appearance and to help nature thrive as much as possible . Hayle In Bloom has continued with volunteers up to this present day to keep our town looking fantastic and to continue to maintain high standards.
Each year since 2000 we have entered the Britain In Bloom competition and have won numerous awards for locations around the Town, along King George V Memorial walk and Penpol Terrace the role of honour can be found displaying the groups successes.

All are welcome to join in with our monthly meetings which are every last Monday of the month - 7pm hosted at Paradise Park ( Except August ) to keep up date with what's happening, to meet other liked minded people , to bring ideas or just to listen whilst enjoying a hot beverage, including the option to take part in the monthly raffle.

Q: Do I have to put in a certain amount of hours ?
A: Not at all. You can spend as little or as much time you like any days you choose. Any help is always appreciated.
Q: Is it compulsory to attend the meetings if I join ?
A: Although the more the merrier when our monthly meetings come around, we still keep people updated through our social media platforms, website and Hayle Pump so never feel you have to attend.
